Executive Director

Paris Loutsis

For over 20 years I have professionally worked in the Early Learning and Childcare field. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of teaching and administrative roles. Primarily I have held administrative roles and have 15 years of experience leading, training and mentoring Early Learning and Childcare professionals.

In 2008 I earned my Early Childhood Education degree and was chosen to be the commencement speaker for my entire graduating class- in front of about 2,000 people, with the honor of sitting next to the former Governor of Washington state on stage. The two of us each gave a speech, highlighting the importance of how Early Learning positively impacts communities for decades to come!

Speaking of communities, what I love most about this profession, is the community we build together! Connecting with teachers and families fosters an environment that paves the way for collaborative interactions.

I believe each family is a child’s first teacher. By blending home cultures and developmentally appropriate activities, children have the opportunity to understand the value of self-esteem, friendship, learning and diversity - all components that support each child in being kind, thoughtful and proactive members of society.

For fun I love to paint rocks and turn them into refrigerator magnets. I went to my first art show with my painted rock magnets earlier this year! I also enjoy creating charcuterie platters, and spending time with friends and family- we are usually doing something crafty or finding a fun Karaoke spot!

I have a 19-year-old son who is finishing up his HVAC certification. The two of us live in Shoreline and love to cook all sorts of cuisines from around the world and watch Sci-Fi movies- one of our favorite Sci-Fi Movies is Interstellar.

Sincerely,

Paris Loutsis

WCCC Support for BLM and Anti-Racism

To the Greater Community of Wallingford Child Care Center:

The Black Lives Matter movement has enabled many of us to reevaluate our world as we know it. Although racial injustice is not new in our country, for some of us it has never been made clearer than through the death of George Floyd. Since his death, the anti-racist movement in our country has grown in prominence and captured the attention of many Americans.

Wallingford Child Care Center stands with the Black Lives Matter movement. We wholeheartedly strive to have an inclusive, open, and supportive childcare center. We are committed to an anti-racist vision of our center. This commitment extends beyond policy and procedure. We have a firm belief that we all need to strive to be anti-racist in our everyday actions, both big and subtle.

A few actions that WCCC Board will be taking:

  • Dedicate time and space to discuss anti-racism and BLM each month.

  • Expand our perspective/education through anti-racist book recommendations and resources that support people of color.

  • Support staff that choose to voice their views at marches and rallies that support anti-racism and people of color.

  • Support staff to engage in anti-racist training and incorporate these learnings in classroom and curriculum as appropriate.

At this time, we do not fully know what this commitment to racial justice looks like in execution. We recognize the injustice against people of color and are trying to educate ourselves on how to best support institutional structures that embrace diversity, and right our country’s injustices. We hope that you will take a similar journey.

Sincerely,

WCCC Board Members
