About Us

The administration team at WCCC enjoys being a part of the community and looks forward to spending time on-site every day.

We are available during the day to support teachers, chat with parents, and get to know the children in our care. The on-site administrative team is supported by the childcare board and is composed of parent members, school administrators, staff, and church representatives.

WCCC Support for BLM and Anti-Racism

To the Greater Community of Wallingford Child Care Center:

The Black Lives Matter movement has enabled many of us to reevaluate our world as we know it. Although racial injustice is not new in our country, for some of us it has never been made clearer than through the death of George Floyd. Since his death, the anti-racist movement in our country has grown in prominence and captured the attention of many Americans.

Wallingford Child Care Center stands with the Black Lives Matter movement. We wholeheartedly strive to have an inclusive, open, and supportive childcare center. We are committed to an anti-racist vision of our center. This commitment extends beyond policy and procedure. We have a firm belief that we all need to strive to be anti-racist in our everyday actions, both big and subtle.

A few actions that WCCC Board will be taking:

  • Dedicate time and space to discuss anti-racism and BLM each month.

  • Expand our perspective/education through anti-racist book recommendations and resources that support people of color.

  • Support staff that choose to voice their views at marches and rallies that support anti-racism and people of color.

  • Support staff to engage in anti-racist training and incorporate these learnings in classroom and curriculum as appropriate.

At this time, we do not fully know what this commitment to racial justice looks like in execution. We recognize the injustice against people of color and are trying to educate ourselves on how to best support institutional structures that embrace diversity, and right our country’s injustices. We hope that you will take a similar journey.

Sincerely,

WCCC Board Members
